Togo is the only country that was owned and/or  colonized by three different European settlers:  the British, the French and the French. Learn the history and discover the vestiges of this complicated past. Visit the smaller slave posts like the “slave house” on the coast which were as essential to slave trade as the larger ones in Ghana and Benin.  In the North of the country, meet the extremely traditional Tamberma people. Depending on the time of the year, participate in one of the annual traditional ceremonies like “Kpessosso”, the selection of the Sacred Stone.
